Canaro – the pop of tango!
Francisco Canaro is usually associated with the beginning of tango music, but he remained one of the most famous tango artists for a long time, not only after his debut. His constant fame (and the fortune, which came with it) was mainly due to his ability to adapt the music to the fashions of the moment, which resulted in thousands of tangos. That’s also why he is considered the “pop” of tango.
It was an all Canaro evening at Tango Fever last Monday – from René and Hiba’s class to the practica, which was interspersed of Canaro tandas. Hiba introduced us to the music and some of the gossip around Canaro and all this added a different dimension to the tango class.
Poema was the one of the songs we practiced on and I simply love it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyyw6FN4dtk
it was a great evening, thanks to René and Hiba!
