Dancer, Master Instructor and Choreographer Argentine Tango
Raquel started her dance career from an early age, having received formal ballet and contemporary dance training. In 1991 she started Latin and ballroom studies, received the IDTA diploma (international dance teachers association) and competed in international dance competitions such as the prestigious Blackpool congress in England. It was in 1998 that she discovered and was swept away by the Argentine tango and she has studied in Buenos Aires with tango greats such as Carlos Gavito and Osvaldo Zotto.
Raquel is an accomplished Tango performer with an impressive international track record. In the UK her performances have included appearances with Tanghetto at the O2, the Orion Philharmonic orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, at the Argentinean Embassy-hosted events during the 2012 Olympics and recently at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Raquel’s teaching style strikes a seemingly effortless balance between individual technique exercises and work on specific moves in couples.
